Bridge End Farm Cottages consists of 6 luxury holiday cottages and an Elizabethan farmhouse, sleeping from 2 to 10, in the hamlet of Boot, Eskdale.
Our charming self-catering cottages at Bridge End Farm Cottages are located in the quaint hamlet of Boot, nestled beneath Scafell in the Eskdale Valley overlooked by Harter Fell, with the Whillan Beck running alongside the cottages – you couldn’t ask for a more idyllic location in the Lake District.
The cottages and farmhouse have been lovingly renovated to a high standard, with exquisite wood work and attention to detail including exposed pink granite throughout – blending seamlessly with the natural beauty of the Lake District. The farmhouse retains many of its original features, including 500 years old oak panelling and flagstone flooring. Each property has also been updated and modernised sympathetically, with modern kitchens and appliances, cozy central heating and luxury bathrooms.
Explore the Lake District from our holiday cottages in Eskdale
Our stunning cottages are situated in one of the most beautiful parts of the Lake District, the Eskdale Valley. Bridge End Farm Cottages is located in the tranquil hamlet of Boot, central to so much to see and do and miles of exploration and discovery.
Amazing walks on open fells are only seconds away from our cottages. For example, to get you started, there is a lovely circular walk up to Blea Tarn, on the fells directly behind the cottages. If it’s warm, go for a dip in Blea Tarn mid way through your walk for an exhilarating experience. The views from up there over our cottages, Boot and the Eskdale Valley are breathtaking.
For a longer hike you could take the route over the fells to England’s deepest Lake, Wastwater Lake, where you can also take a dip in its crystal clear, but cool water.
Or there is the stunning Stanley Ghyll Waterfall, in the other direction, but only a relatively short walk past the lively River Esk, surrounded by beautiful, old oak trees.
After a long day of hiking, discovery and exploration, you can sit back and relax in our luxury self catering cottages, in the extensive garden areas, or down by the Whillan Beck, which flows around Bridge End Farm Cottages (keep an eye out for the red squirrels!). Or, get some delicious grub and a tipple of your choice at one of the two superb pubs in Boot, only minutes away.
“Such an Idyllic area and the cottages were fantastic, we stayed in the Farmhouse, Whillan Beck and Wrynose with group of family and friends. The experience was exceptional from making the booking through to the end stay. Highly recommend.”
